The grinding or polishing disc according to the invention has a through- opening in which a threaded insert is inserted via a press fit. The threaded insert has an inner thread as a through--thread for receiving the spindle of a drive motor. The joined threaded insert eliminates the need for a clamping nut or for the production of an inner thread in the carrier disc of the grinding or polishing disc.
