ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A semi-permanent peripheral grinding wheel comprising a hub mounting an ultrahard abrasive-containing rim, said rim being resiliently depressible radially inwardly of the wheel, and the wheel having a radial static stiffness of no more than 1.5 x 106 newtons/ metre per mm. of wheel width and a first radial natural frequency of at least 500 Hertz.
