ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention provides a grinding wheel having a peripheral grinding portion formed of a resin matrix containing a nickel coated cubic boron nitride abrasive particles at least 80 per cent of which are needle-shaped having a ratio of long axis to transverse short axis of at least 2:1. The nickel coating constitutes from 30 to 80 weight percent of the coated particle, a major portion of the particles being so aligned that their long axes are normal to the outer periphery of the grinding portion.
