ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A gripping implement, adapted to carry a fire-hose wound in a coil formed by superposed whorls of the fire-hose, comprises a plate having two adjacent parallel slots formed by two lateral rods and an intermediate rod interconnected at one end by a transversal rod. The intermediate rod is spaced from one of the lateral rods at the end opposite said transversal rod. The intermediate rod and one of the lateral rods are adapted to sidewardly straddle, at least one of the whorls which is most radially remote on the fire-hose for gripping the latter. The other lateral rod adjacent the intermediate rod forms a handle to carry said fire-hose when the intermediate rod and the one lateral rod straddle the most remote whorl.
