A grooming device (18) includes an inbound cross- point switch (30) that combines proprietary STS-1 sig- nals from any of a plurality of optical terminators (16) into a grouped set of output signals for transmission to a broadband matrix subsystem through dedicated matrix interfaces (20). The inbound crosspoint switch (30) in- cludes a crosspoint matrix (72) that receives each of the plurality of input signal lines at each output signal port and selects which input signal line is connected to which output signal port as determined by a microprocessor con- troller (78). which output signal port has a register (90) for storing information as to which input signal line is to be connected to that port. A decoder (92) generates a control signal from the information stored in the register (90) to drive a multiplexer (94) for selection of the ap- propriate input signal line.
Dispositif de réorganisation (18) comprenant un commutateur de points de connexion d'arrivée (30) combinant des signaux exclusifs STS-1 provenant de l'une quelconque d'une pluralité de terminaisons optiques (16) en un ensemble groupé de signaux de sortie, afin de les transmettre à un sous-système de matrice à large bande par l'intermédiaire d'interfaces de matrice réservées (20). Chaque sortie de signaux possède un registre (90) servant à mémoriser l'information concernant ladite ligne de signaux d'entrée qui doit être reliée à ladite sortie de signaux. Un décodeur (92) génère un signal de commande à partir de l'information mémorisée dans le registre (90), afin de commander un multiplexeur (94), de manière à sélectionner la ligne de signaux d'entrée adéquate.
