A self contained grounding verification system for transport vehicles includes a direct current power source mounted on a transport vehicle. A controller is mounted on the transport vehicle and derives its power from the power source. A grounding cable couples the controller to a first clamp, whereby the grounding cable is attached to a grounded metal object. A ground verification cable couples the controller to a second clamp, whereby the ground verification cable is attached to a grounded metal object. A bipolar signal generator is coupled to the controller and to the power source. The bipolar signal generator generates narrow pulses alternating between positive amplitude pulses and negative amplitude pulses. A rectifying diode is provided at one of the first clamp and the second clamp, such that the controller receives only one of positive amplitude pulses and negative amplitude pulses.

Cette invention concerne un système autonome de vérification de la mise à la masse pour véhicules de transport qui comprend une source de courant continu embarquée et qui fait appel à un contrôleur alimenté par la source de courant embarquée.
