11 GROUPING OF OPTICAL FIBERS Abstract of the Disclosure Grouping of optical fibers by disposing the group within a channel formed in a plastic film, and then applying another film across an open side of the channel so as to close it, thereby forming a seamed flexible fiber unit. A plurality of units may be made simultaneously by longitudinally corrugating a plastic film to form a plurality of parallel channels each for housing its own group of fibers.
