Treating renal failure by passing blood from a patient through a blood filtering device and passing the filtrate obtained through a tubule processing device. Also disclosed is a method of growing tubule cells ex vivo by culturing adult kidney cells in a three dimensional collagen gel in the presence of retinoic acid and epidermal growth factor to achieve tubulogenesis, and the ex vivo renal tubule tissue system obtained therefrom.
L'invention porte sur un traitement de l'insuffisance rénale au cours duquel on filtre le sang d'un patient dans un dispositif de filtration du sang et on passe le filtrat obtenu dans un dispositif de traitement s'apparentant à un tubule. L'invention divulgue également une méthode permettant de faire croître ex vivo des cellules de tubule en mettant en culture des cellules rénales d'adulte dans un gel de collagène tridimensionnel en présence d'acide rétinoïque et d'EGF (epidermal growth factor) pour créer une tubulogenèse, et un tissu ex vivo s'apparentant à un tubule rénal obtenu par cette méthode.
