In a horticultural growing system including a container comprising an inactive growing medium, the container is shaped as a sealed bag or box of a material capable of containing the inactive medium together with water while remaining dry on the outer surface, and allowing for absorption and subsequent draining of water. The inactive growing medium is in the form of a mixture of lava products and clay prod~ucts in proportioned mutual ratios, said mixture including one or more constituents selected from among pumice stone, Perlite, clay materials, light clinker and lava, but is can also contain zeolites and/or vermiculite and other constituents. The growing system provides environmental and economically advantages in that it can be used for up to five years without having to change the medium. In this time period, it is possible to produce 300 kg of tomatoes in one box.

Dans un système de croissance horticole comprenant un contenant comprenant un milieu de croissance inactif, le contenant a la forme d'un sac ou d'une caisse hermétique en une matière capable de contenir le milieu inactif avec de l'eau tout en restant sec sur la surface extérieure, et permettant l'absorption puis le drainage d'eau. Le milieu de croissance inactif se présente sous la forme d'un mélange de produits de lave et de produits d'argile dans des rapports mutuels proportionnés, ledit mélange contenant un ou plusieurs constituants choisis entre la pierre ponce, la perlite, des matières d'argile, de clinker léger et de lave, mais il peut également contenir des zéolites et/ou de la vermiculite ainsi que d'autres constituants. Le système de croissance procure des avantages économiques et environnementaux en ce qu'il peut être utilisé pendant une période allant jusqu'à cinq ans sans devoir changer le milieu. Pendant cette période, il est possible de produire 300 kg de tomates dans une caisse.
