Abstract of the Disclosure A growth promoting material, method of preparing the same, and use of materials of this kind. A material is indicated to promote the growth, especially of earths or soils as well as a method of making such ma- terial, and the use of materials of that kind. The material contains, as a substrate, the bark of trees or pieces thereof which are composted several times, if desired, and fertilizers, preferably natural fertilizers, especially animal excrements. Especially well suited for this purpose is chicken dung, preferably chick dung which is lacking in seeds. This is added to the disintegrated composted bark substrate. Upon addition of additives and binders, molded bodies may be formed which are suitable for use as grass plate, cover plate having a fertilizing effect, breeding body, or seed body.
