A transgenic plant transformed by a GTP Binding Stress-Related Protein (GBSRP) coding nucleic acid, wherein expression of the nucleic acid sequence in the plant results in increased tolerance to environmental stress as compared to a wild type variety of the plant. Also provided are agricultural products, including seeds, produced by the transgenic plants. Also provided are isolated GBSRPs, and isolated nucleic acid coding GBSRPs, and vectors and host cells containing the latter.
Cette invention a trait à une plante transgénique transformée par une protéine de fixation de la GTP liée au stress (GBSRP) codant un acide nucléique. L'expression de la séquence nucléotidique dans la plante entraîne chez celle-ci une tolérance accrue au stress environnemental et ce, par rapport à celle de la même plante, mais de type sauvage. L'invention concerne également des produits agricoles, notamment des graines, obtenus grâce à ces plantes transgéniques. Elle porte, de surcroît, sur des GBSRP isolées, sur des acides nucléiques isolés codant des GBSRP ainsi que sur des vecteurs et des cellules hôtes les contenant.
