A guardrail assembly for securing to a rail (24) of a track has a plurality of post forming means (10) and one or more rail means (60, 62) supported by the plurality of post forming means (10), each post forming means (10) including locking means (12) slidably insertable under the rail (24), clamping means (14) adapted to engage against a first side portion (64) of the rail (24) and to be moved between a first position, where the locking means (12) is slidably removable from under the rail (24), and a second position, where the locking means locks (12) the clamping means (14) to the rail (24), upright post means, (16) and spacing means (15) connected between the clamping means (14) and the upright post means (16) for locating the upright post means (16) sufficiently remote of the rail (24) to prevent a rail worker encroaching dangerously close to the rail (24).

Cette invention concerne un ensemble rambarde de protection pouvant se fixer sur un rail (24) de voie ferrée. Cet ensemble rambarde comporte une pluralité d'ensembles montants (10) et un ou plusieurs ensembles rambarde (60, 62) reposant sur la pluralité des ensembles montants (10). Chaque ensemble montant (10) comprend les éléments suivants : dispositifs de verrouillage (12) insérables par coulissement sous le rail (24) ; dispositifs de serrage (14) conçus pour prendre appui contre une première partie latérale (64) du rail (24) et pouvant passer d'une première position, dans laquelle les dispositifs de verrouillage (12) peuvent être retirés par coulissement de dessous le rail (24), à une seconde position dans laquelle les dispositifs de verrouillage (12) bloquent les dispositifs de serrage (14) sur le rail (24) ; ensembles montant vertical (16) et dispositifs d'écartement (15) qui sont disposés entre les moyen de serrage (14) et les dispositifs de montant vertical (16) à une distance suffisante du rail (24) pour empêcher un travailleur sur la voie ferrée de s'approcher dangereusement du rail (24).
