ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A guidebar for chainsaws with lubrication means for the chain and end sprocket. The guidebar includes three plates welded together and supporting a nose sprocket, the middle plate having an oil channel with an outlet at the end of the middle plate adjacent the sprocket and on that side of the middle plate at which the chain leaves the sprocket. Preferably, the oil channel outlet is such that the oil leaving the channel has a velocity component opposite to that of the chain and such that the oil flow hits the sliding surfaces of the chain as well as the teeth of the nose sprocket.
