Abstract Guillotine shearing machine, especially for cutting con- tinuous metal bands wherein, by connection to rods each supported by a pair of crancks, each of two longitudinal blades translates parallel to itself and to the opposite blade, on equal circular trajectories, the upper blade be- ing inclined in relation to the lower horizontal blade so that, when blades meet near the cutting plane and become superimposed, said baldes progressively cut the band from one edge through to the other edge in a way that greatly reduces cutting stress, blade speed at each cutting cy- cle being regulated according to the speed at which the band moves forward so that, in the area of contact, blade and band speeds coincide and pieces of band can be cut to any length desired.
