A gun drill excellent in machining performance, remarkably increased in machining speed as compared with conventional ones, providing a high deep-hole machining efficiency, remarkably prolonged in the life of the cutting edge, and particularly for a small-diameter one, reduced in the frequency of filing for re-use. A machining head (3A) having, at its tip face (3a), a coolant discharge port (30) communicating with a coolant supply passage (12) is fitted to the end (1b) of a hollow shank part (1) having, in its outer surface, a chip discharge groove (11) of a V-shaped cross section along the longitudinal direction and having, therein, the coolant supply passage (12). The cutting edge part (32) of the machining head (3A) is formed of a sintered alloy (W). Guide pads (5A, 5B) in slidable contact with the inner periphery of a cut hole are formed of a dissimilar material higher in hardness than the sintered alloy (W).
L~invention concerne un foret pour perçage profond offrant une excellente qualité d~usinage, une vitesse d~usinage considérablement supérieure à celle des forets traditionnels, une grande efficacité d~usinage de trous profonds, une durée de vie de l~arête tranchante considérablement prolongée, et nécessitant un limage moins fréquent, notamment pour un foret de petit diamètre. Une tête d~usinage (3A) dont la face de bout (3a) est dotée d~un orifice (30) d~éjection de fluide de refroidissement en communication avec un passage (12) d~alimentation en fluide de refroidissement est montée à l~extrémité (1b) d~une partie de tige creuse (1) dont la surface intérieure est dotée d~une rainure (11) d~évacuation de copeaux dont la section transversale prend la forme d~un V dans le sens de la longueur et dans laquelle est ménagé le passage (12) d~alimentation en fluide de refroidissement. La partie d~arête tranchante (32) de la tête d~usinage (3A) est formée d~un alliage fritté (W). Des lèvres de guidage (5A, 5B) en contact glissant avec la périphérie intérieure d~un trou découpé sont formées d~un matériau différent plus dur que l~alliage fritté (W).
