A B S T R A C T A gun mount apparatus e.g. for a machine gun supported by a fork, comprises two mutually hinged swivel arms in staggered position with one at a higher lever than the other and rotatable about an axis. The upper swivel arm is formed as a parallelogram linkage for vertical adjustment of the fork, which supports the weapon at the free end of the parallelogram linkage. Forced vertical adjustment of the parallelogram linkage is effected by height adjustment means including a connecting rod means of variable length connected between two sides of the parallelogram and geared control means for changing the length of said connecting rod means.
