A mounting plate for the storage and mounting thereon of a gun storage box. The mounting plate possesses mounting pins which are used for extending through correspondingly placed securement apertures positioned on the bottom surface of the gun storage box, whereby the gun storage box can be releasably mounted thereon. When the gun storage box is mounted on the mounting pins, a fastener is inserted through an aperture on the bottom surface of the gun storage box and through a corresponding opening on the mounting bracket to secure the gun storage box to the mounting plate, once the fastener is rotated.
