Disclosed is a reclosable gusseted bag made of a flexible, weldable material, the bag comprising a closed bottom end, a top end, a front bag wall and a rear bag wall, both extending from the bottom end to the top end. A reclosing device is provided near the top end and between the two bag walls. The bag further comprises side gussets, extending between the bag walls, that terminate at upper ends at a distance from the top end, such that a top area of the bag without gussets is provided between the top end of the bag and the upper ends of the side gussets, wherein the upper ends of each side gusset are welded together, and wherein the side gussets project freely into an interior space of the bag.
