16 GUSSETTED FLEXIBLE PACKAGE WITH RECLOSABLE MOUTH USING A SNAP TYPE RECLOSURE STRIP ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A flexible, gussetted package and method of making it. The package has an interior for initially holding some product, e.g., whole coffee bean or ground coffee, under vacuum, and which includes a mouth portion arranged to be peeled open to provide access to the contents of the package. The package is formed of a flexible material and includes a front panel, a rear panel, and a pair of opposed side gussets. The panels and gussets each include a top portion, which between them define the package's mouth. A peelable closure is provided within the mouth. A snap closure is provided above the peelable closure. The package is arranged to be sealed under vacuum, with the peelable closure maintaining the vacuum within the package until it is peeled open. The snap closure comprises a pair of snap strip members secured to respective portions of the front and rear panel. The snap strip portions are arranged to be releasably snap fit together, so that they can be opened and reclosed after the peelable closure has been peeled open in order to provide repeated access to the interior of the package, while minimizing the ingress of air into the package when it is closed. The top portion of the package can be folded flat to enable it to be readily stacked after it is initially filled and sealed.

Cet emballage sert initialement à contenir sous vide des produits, comme des graines entières de café ou du café moulu, et présente une ouverture pelable permettant l'accès à son contenu. L'emballage est d'un matériau souple et comprend un panneau avant, un panneau arrière ainsi qu'une paire de soufflets latéraux opposés. Il y a une fermeture pelable dans l'ouverture et une fermeture à pression au-dessus de la fermeture pelable. L'emballage est conçu pour être scellé sous vide, grâce à la fermeture pelable qui maintient ce vide dans l'emballage jusqu'à son ouverture. La fermeture à pression comprend une paire d'éléments de bande pression fixés aux parties respectives des panneaux avant et arrière. Ces éléments sont conçus pour être encliquetés ensemble de façon amovible, afin de pouvoir les ouvrir et les refermer après l'ouverture de la fermeture pelable pour permettre un accès répété au contenu de l'emballage, tout en réduisant les entrées d'air à l'intérieur de celui-ci lorsqu'il est fermé. La partie supérieure de l'emballage peut être repliée, afin de permettre un rangement facile après que l'emballage ait été initialement rempli et scellé.
