A gutter cover for covering the top of a gutter to allow water to enter the gutter but to prevent large debris from entering, the cover has an elongated, perforated, main section and a side section on one side of the main section. the side section defines a channel that opens away from the main section, the channel sized to fit over the upper lip of a gutter. there is a gripping surface on the cover on or near the side section that extends upwardly. The gripping surface faces away from the channel opening and is used to pull the channel over the lip of an installed gutter when installing the cover on the gutter.
