The present invention relates to an improved composite material; more particularly to a composite gypsum board product having improved water resistance which is especially useful for making building products. Specifically, the present invention relates to an improved gypsum/wood fiber building board having enhanced water resistance through the addition of a wax emulsion to the gypsum and wood fiber during tree board manufacturing process.
