The Horizontal Wind Energy System is a wind energy design system with three Ailerons on top of a tower which turn in a horizontal circular motion on a vertical axis. The Ailerons are aerodynamic in design and flow through the air easily and transfer torque to the vertical axis or in this case the vertical rotor shaft which is positioned in the middle of the tower. The torque from the rotor shaft turns the flywheel at the bottom of the tower. Because the Ailerons, rotor shaft and flywheel are all connected as one unit they turn in unison. Therefore one complete revolution of the Ailerons equals one complete revolution of the Flywheel. (ratio is 1 to 1) The Flywheel also turns in a horizontal circular motion and has a drive belt connected to the flywheel and generating motor drive shaft. This means that the generating motor drive shaft is also in a vertical position so as to align the drive belt from the flywheel properly. Of course this belt is heavy industrial type and has guides to keep it aligned and pneumatic pressure to maintain tension while in circular motion. However the ratio from the flywheel to the generating motor drive shaft is much larger because the flywheel is 6 ft in diameter or 72 inches and the motor drive shaft is about 1 inch in diameter giving a large ratio. (ratio is 72 to 1) This reference to ratio simply indicates the when the Ailerons and flywheel have one revolution per minute the generating motor has 72 RPM. In retrospect if the Ailerons turn 100 RPM then the generating motor is at 7,200 RPM. The electricity which is generated by the motor is metered to the electrical grit and it is public utilities which pays for power generated to there grid. This is of course upon agreement with the two company parties. The public power company pays the Horizontal Wind Energy System Company so much per kilowatt hour of electricity generated. There is a chart on HP and Kilowatts being generated and the amount of dollars that are earned , calculated for a 200 day year. This 200 day calculation is 4800 hours and is because the wind speeds are assumed not adequate each day of the year therefore running the wind system about 55% of the time. The power generated and the dollar value return shows that it is justifiable to built these Horizontal Wind Energy Systems and spend the Capital Dollars to own a system of this type because of the economic return on the investment. It is also important to note that they produce a sizeable amount of clean energy at a minimal cost which seems to be a direction that European Countries have already taken and that now North America is starting to take seriously. In Germany today 20 % of there total power consumption is from wind energy which is a very affirmative action towards renewable clean energy and one which Canada may follow.
