An elongate holder (1) with clip supporting and retaining means engaging only the bottom portions (51-52) of the clip (5) so that the side arms (50) thereof are free. The supporting means include at least one bearing surface (200) engaged by the bottom portion (51-52) of the clip, whereas the retaining means consist of a flexible thin blade forming a locking tab no shorter than the clip is tall. Said tab normally engages the bottom portion (52) but may be spaced away therefrom in a direction substantially perpendicular to the plane of the clip in order to release same when an upward pulling force is exerted thereon.
