ABSTRACT A human hair conditioner and methods are disclosed. The conditioner consists essentially of an aqueous composition containing 0.25-4 percent static-reducing agent, 0.05-1.0 percent cationic film-forming polymer that contains a plurality of quaternary nitrogen atoms, and 0.25-4 percent distearyldimethyammonium salt, wherein the weight ratio of the static-reducing agent to the cationic polymer is about 2:1 to about 20:1.
