A hair straightener iron with ionic treatment comprises a pair of arms, articulated at their first ends and comprising adjacent their second ends a pair of opposing electrically heated plates, which are coated with ceramic crystal material; a tip in a first arm matches a hole in the second arm, to activate a switch means for an ionizing circuit. An outlet of negative ions produced by the circuit is located adjacent to and directed at the surface of one of the heated plates. The ionizing circuit comprises a supply circuit including a resistor, an LED and a rectifier diode, coupled to the switch means, which is connected to a resistor, a rectifier diode, an LED and a capacitor.
