An electric hair styling apparatus including first and second elongate members that are pivotally connected are spring biased away from each other. Located inside one of the elongate members is an electric motor, which can selectively be turned on to vibrate the heat plates for faster hairstyling with less damage to the hair. The preferred apparatus includes a transparent window on an outer surface of the first elongate member that provides for viewing of a control panel located on an inner surface of the second elongate member.
