Excellent wet and dry combability is obtained by treating hair with water-based preparations containing (A) alkoxylated wool wax alcohols, (B) esters of glycerol with saturated or unsaturated C10-22 fatty acids and (C) esters of sorbitan with saturated or unsaturated C10-22 fatty acids and/or alkoxylated analogs thereof. In the case of colored hair, a strong levelling effect is also obtained with little change in color.
