ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A hairbrush construction having an elongate body with a bristle-free grip portion thereof for holding and manipulating the brush employs bristle elements carried by the body to extend away from one side. A tapered end portion is carried at the leading end of the body to readily enter, gradually separate and lift a shock of hair of a person as the end portion passes into the hair. The end portion is tapered as viewed in both elevation and plan to form a substantially pointed end to the entering portion.
