ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION HALOGEN-EXCHANGE PROCESS A halogen exchange process is disclosed for the preparation of fluorinated derivatives of pentachloroethane without substantial production of perhalogenated by-products thereof. In particular, the invention relates to such process which involves the use of high-fluoride content antimony pentahalides for the preparation of CF3CHCl2 (HCFC-123), CF3CHClF (HCFC-124) and CF3CHF2 (HFC-125).
