1 PHN 9515 ABSTRACT: In the halogen incandescent lamp of the inven- tion having a gasfilling containing bromine, tantalum alloyed with tungsten in a weight ratio of 9/1 to 1/9 is used as a getter for oxygen. The affinity of said alloys to oxygen is much larger than their affinity to bromine. In known halogen incandescent lamps tantalum is used as an oxygen getter. Tantalum, however, absorbs bromine too, affecting adversely the tungsten bromine cycle of said known lamps.
