- 22 - ABSTRACT A method of combatting insect pests at locations where fish are or are likely to be present in which a composition containing a compound of formula: Image (I) where R1 is haloalkyl, R2 is haloalkyl or halo, X is hydrogen or cyano and Y is halo is used in an amount which is insecticidally effective but non-toxic to fish. The compounds where X is cyano have not been previously been described. A typical compound is that where R1 is trifluoromethyl, X is cyano and R2 and Y are both chloro.
