ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Block copolymers of improved fire resistance are provided by halogenating a block copolymer having at least one polymer block of an aromatic alkenyl or alkenylidene hydrocarbon and at least one polybutadiene black has a 1,2-structure for 20 to 60% and a 1,4-structure for the rest, at least 50% of the unsaturation in the 1,2-structure and no more than 50% of the unsaturation in the 1,4-structure of the polybutadiene block being saturated. The block copolymers of this invention are suitable for use in various applications, for example upholstery of motor cars, flooring, and electrical cable.
