ABSTRACT A method of manufacturing a ribbon cable consisting of a multiplicity of insulated wires, and non-insulated wires and holding them in place by use of an adhesive polymer or elastomer, which has varying lengths of setting or harding times. One of the primary designs is the formation of the ribbon cable into a helix pattern which will enable it to expand and retract longitudinally without significant diameter changes, and always return to its original state. The same technique can be used to form a ribbon cable in a flat pattern once again with a multiplicity of conductors held together by an adhesive coating. These cables exhibit extraordinary attributes when exposed to environmental hazards such as high temperature, mechanical abuse and radiographic attack.
