ABSTRACT A hammer mill is provided with a plurality of peripheral inlets (7a) and adjacent corresponding outlets (7b), which are respectively associated with corresponding supply ducts (4) and adjacent dicharge ducts (5), so as to subdivide the grinding chamber (1) peripherally into a plurality of mill segments each defined by a supply duct (4) with an inlet (7a) into the chamber (1) and a corresponding adjacent discharge duct (5) with an outlet (7b) from the chamber. A feed proportioning apparatus for the hammer mill is provided with coaxial cells (21, 22) and a plurality of underlying proportioning screws (23) radially arranged so as to respectively communicate with the coaxial cells (21, 22) via inner and outer openings (24, 25) corres- ponding to a first and a second screw inlet. The hammer mill and the feed proportioning device are suitable for processing different loose materials, especially for the production of mixed fodder.
