HAMMER MILL FOR WHOLE GRAIN FLOURS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Conventional grinding of whole grain flour such as whole wheat flour, is by conventional milling procedures. However, these cannot fully grind the bran due to the fibrous content thereof, to the same fineness as the remainder of the grain so that the bran remains as a larger fraction in the finished product. The present device utilizes a hammer mill with a relatively fine screen. In order to prevent moisture and flour forming a dough and caking around the re- circulating air intake, a seal is provided around the intake to prevent this flour and the moisture from mixing. The air enters through the sealed area and cannot mix with the flour. An exhaust duct is also provided to atmosphere together with a dust separator and the flour dust from the separator is fed back to the hammer mill outlet through which whole grain flour exits from the mill. This arrangement produces a whole grain flour in which all components including the bran are of the same maximum fineness.
