A hammock comprise a hammock bed having a head end and a foot end. A first leg member is disposed at the head end of the hammock bed and has a main elongate vertical leg portion having an upper end and a ground penetrating lower end, and a first mounting means adjacent the upper end for suspending the head end of the hammock bed therefrom. A second leg member is disposed at the foot end of the hammock bed and has a main elongate vertical leg portion having an upper end and a ground penetrating lower end, and a second mounting means adjacent the upper end for suspending the foot end of the hammock bed therefrom. The first and second leg members are driven into the ground and the hammock bed is suspended from the mounting hooks of the first and second leg members.
