An alignment adapter device to aid in aligning a conduit to be bent using a hand bender. The device includes a spring clamp for releasably connecting it to the handle of a hand bender. The device also includes in one sidewall a set of retaining holes for receiving a level device and in another sidewall a set of retaining holes for receiving a second level device. The first level device is positioned in the holes of the sidewall to aid the user in aligning the conduit transversely during the bending process. The second level device is positioned in the holes of the other sidewall to aid the user in bending the conduit to the desired angle. A plurality of hole configurations in the second sidewall permit selection of the particular desired angle of bend of the conduit.
