The present invention provides a hand cart for moving a load up to or down from an elevated platform comprising a frame including a load supporting plate and ground engaging wheels, the frame being pivotable about the wheels, a rotatable leg pivotally connected to the frame for movement between a first non-operative position and a second ground engaging position in which the wheels are elevated above the ground, and connectors provided on the load supporting plate for temporarily engaging the elevated platform, wherein engagement of the connectors with the platform and movement of the leg into its ground engaging position results in elevation of the load supporting plate to the elevation of the platform.
