A motor saw for cutting wood or stone includes a continuous wire loop (18) which carries uniformly-spaced cutting elements (25) and which is tensioned over a saw blade (17), from a drive wheel (30) mounted in the machine housing (15) to a loop-guiding sprocket wheel (20) at the outer end of the saw blade (17), said sprocket wheel functioning as a circular saw. As the cutting elements (25) pass over the sprocket wheel (20), they drop into recesses (28) between cog-like sprockets (27) thereon. The sprockets (27) support and guide the wire loop with the cutting elements (25) hanging freely in cutting positions in the recesses (28) between the sprockets. In the case of a duplicated wire loop, a cog cam (51) on the sprockets penetrates between parts (18', 18") of the loop so as to prevent the freely-hanging cutting elements (25) from twisting. These cutting elements may be irregularly shaped if desired. Given an enlarged diameter, the guide sprocket wheel (20') with the aid of the saw blade (17) attains an enhanced circular-saw effect to a depth that passes beyond the centre of the guide sprocket wheel (20').
L'invention concerne une scie à moteur pour le bois ou la pierre, présentant boucle de câble continu (18) portant des éléments de coupe uniformément espacés (25) et tendus sur une lame de scie (17), depuis un galet d'entraînement (30) placé dans le boîtier machine (15) vers une roue dentée de guidage (20) à l'extrémité distale de la lame (17), fonctionnant comme une scie circulaire. Lors de leur passage sur la roue dentée (20), les éléments de coupe (25) qui pendent librement de la boucle pénètrent dans les cavités (28) entre les dents d'engrènement (27) qui soutiennent et guident la boucle, et s'alignent dans leurs positions respectives sur les cavités (28) espacées. En configuration de boucle doublée, une came dentée (51) placée sur les dents pénètre entre certaines parties (18', 18'') de la boucle afin d'éviter toute torsion des éléments de coupe à suspension libre (25), auxquels on peut éventuellement donner une forme irrégulière. Offrant un diamètre accru, la roue dentée de guidage (20') et la lame de la scie (17) confèrent à l'outil un effet amélioré de scie circulaire, à une profondeur qui va au-delà du centre de la roue dentée (20').
