ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A hand held audio transducer device transduces signals from a stationary record and includes a housing containing a transducer. The housing has an uncovered region in a portion of the housing or includes an opening serving to accomodate entry therein of a person's finer to pass into contact with Braille character. The transducer is carried by a rotatable body so that the transducer follows a path of the record. A member carried by the body is movable between projected and retracted positions for registering the transducer to follow the record path. A power supply and drive motor are provided to rotate the body and transducer. The transducing device can be used with a recording apparatus to teach pronunciation of words. Pre-recorded words properly spoken are played back through a speaker and recorded via a microphone onto a recording medium. The same words spoken by a student are recorded onto the medium after the words from the speaker of the transducer device.
