A cigarette combustion unit for use in a hand-held cigarette smoke filtering device for filtering sidestream smoke emitted from a cigarette burning in said unit comprising: i) an elongate closed combustion chamber for a burning cigarette, a lower wall portion of said combustion chamber at least having an air porous portion to permit air to enter said combustion chamber; ii) a cigarette holder in an end of said combustion chamber for holding a cigarette in said combustion chamber with its burning end spaced from chamber interior wall surfaces; and iii) a sidestream smoke outlet in said end above said cigarette holder.

L'invention concerne une unité de combustion de cigarette prévue pour être utilisée dans un dispositif à main de filtration de fumées de cigarettes. Ce dispositif assure la filtration de la fumée secondaire émise par une cigarette se consumant dans cette unité. Cette dernière comprend (i) une chambre de combustion close allongée pour une cigarette allumée, au moins une partie de paroi inférieure de cette chambre de combustion comportant une partie poreuse à l'air pour laisser l'air entrer dans cette chambre; (ii) un support de cigarettes, dans une extrémité de cette chambre de combustion, pour maintenir une cigarette dont l'extrémité allumée est espacée des surfaces de parois intérieures de la chambre; et (iii) une sortie de fumée secondaire dans ladite extrémité au-dessus du support de cigarette.
