There is provided a hand-holdable vacuum cleaner, comprising: an electric motor; an electrical on-off switch for operating said motor; a fan connected to an output shaft of said motor; an airflow pathway comprising an inlet for dirty air, an outlet for clean air, and a collection chamber located in fluid communication between said inlet and said outlet; means for separating out debris entrained with dirty air entering via said inlet and depositing the debris in said collection chamber; and means for adjusting an angle of said inlet relative to a main axis of said vacuum cleaner; wherein the vacuum cleaner further comprises a rigid, elongate nose having said inlet at one end thereof, said nose being pivotable relative to said main axis through an angle of at least 135 degrees. The elongate nose can be pivoted from a first, folded position in which it is angled alongside the main axis of the vacuum cleaner, substantially parallel thereto, allowing the vacuum cleaner to be stored in a very compact overall space, to a second, extended position in which it is angled by only a small amount or not at all from the main axis of the vacuum cleaner to provide an extension thereof. Secondly, since the nose is rigid and elongate and has the dirty air inlet located at one end thereof, it may be introduced into narrow spaces without any need to be supported by a hand of a user, unlike a flexible hose extension known from prior art hand-holdable vacuum cleaners.
L'invention concerne un aspirateur à main comprenant un moteur électrique, un interrupteur marche-arrêt pour faire fonctionner ledit moteur; un ventilateur raccordé à un arbre de sortie du dit moteur, un passage d'écoulement de l'air comprenant un orifice d'entrée pour l'air poussiéreux, un orifice de sortie pour l'air pur et un collecteur situé en communication fluide entre ledit orifice d'entrée et ledit orifice de sortie, un dispositif pour séparer les débris entraînés avec l'air poussiéreux entrant par l'orifice d'entrée et déposant les débris dans ledit collecteur, et un dispositif pour régler un angle du dit orifice d'entrée par rapport à un axe principal du dit aspirateur, où l'aspirateur comprend de plus un nez allongé rigide comportant ledit orifice d'entrée à une extrémité de celui-ci, ledit nez pouvant pivoter par rapport à l'axe principal du dit aspirateur grâce à un angle d'au moins 135 degrés. Le nez allongé peut pivoter à partir d'une première position pliée qui est anglée le long de l'axe principal de l'aspirateur, essentiellement parallèle à celui-ci, permettant à l'aspirateur d'être entreposé dans un espace très compact, à une deuxième position allongée qui est légèrement anglée ou pas du tout de l'axe principal de l'aspirateur afin de fournir une rallonge à celui-ci. Deuxièmement, puisque le nez est rigide et allongé et comporte l'orifice d'entrée d'air poussiéreux à une extrémité de celui-ci, il peut être introduit dans des espaces étroits sans avoir à être soutenu par la main de l'utilisateur, contrairement à une rallonge de boyau souple des aspirateurs à main antérieurs.
