ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A hand model satellite receiver-setup apparatus has a video monitor whereby a visual representation of a signal from a satellite dish is displayed. A receiver is linked to the video monitor. The receiver has a converter and a tuner such that the tuner selects a signal from a band of signals received by a satellite dish and the converter converts the signal to a form recognizable and usable by the video monitor. A microprocessor is connected to the receiver. The microprocessor controls the tuner to scan and select alternate satellite signals and has means to alter the polarity of the signals received. A portable power supply is connected to and supplies power to the receiver, the video monitor and the microprocessor. The receiver, the video monitor, the microprocessor and the power supply are housed in a housing capable of being hand held.
