ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention is directed to a hand tool capable of temporarily clamping two articles and is also directed to a quick-action bar clamp wherein the moving jaw can be rapidly advanced or advances in small increments using one hand. The hand tool has a fixed jaw, a movable jaw and a slide bar with the movable jaw mounted on the slide bar. The slide bar includes a support arrangement with the fixed jaw extending outwardly from the support arrangement. A hand grip forms part of the support arrangement and extends longitudinally along the slide bar. The hand grip has associated therewith a control arrangement for moving the movable jaw relative to the fixed jaw. Such an arrangement is very versatile and convenient to use.
