ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to hand tools such as garden pruners, lawn-edge trimmers, scissors and the like. The tool comprises two members and two handles connected to the re- spective members and movable to move the members towards one another. It also includes a spring which biasses the members apart, the spring being guided for expansion and contraction in a slot in a first one of said members. The spring is so con- nected to the second of said members that an increase in the force of the spring occurs in response to relative movement of the members towards one another.
