The handrail has an at least partial-ly coated outer shell (3). To allow the coating (15) to comprise at least one layer consisting of a metal and/or at least one metal compound, according to the invention the handrail is formed from a plurali-ty of grip elements (1, 1'), located on a power transmission belt. Adjacent grip elements (1, 1') can be pushed inside one another, tilting said grip elements (1, 1') in relation to one another without producing deformations of said elements (1, 1') in the bent region. For this purpose, each grip ele-ment (1) has an interior chamfer (8) or recess (8), which is used to overlap an external chamfer (9') or recess (9') of the adjacent grip element (1'), allowi-ng the elements to be pushed inside one another or tilted in relation to one another. It is advantageous if the outer shell (3) is double-walled with an outer wall (17) and an inner wall (18).
L'invention concerne une main courante présentant une coque extérieure (3) pourvue, au moins sur certaines parties, d'un revêtement (15). Afin que ce revêtement puisse présenter au moins une couche constituée d'un métal et/ou d'au moins un composé métallique, la main courante est formée, selon l'invention, d'une pluralité d'éléments de préhension (1, 1') disposés sur un moyen d'entraînement, les éléments de préhension (1, 1') adjacents pouvant être emboîtés les uns dans les autres de sorte qu'ils puissent pivoter légèrement les uns par rapport aux autres et ne subissent ainsi aucune déformation dans une zone arquée. De manière appropriée, chaque élément de préhension (1) présente un biseau (8) ou un évidement (8) intérieur par l'intermédiaire duquel il vient se plaquer sur un biseau (9') ou un évidement (9') extérieur de l'élément de préhension adjacent (1'), ce qui permet auxdits éléments de s'emboîter l'un dans l'autre ou de pivoter l'un par rapport à l'autre. De manière avantageuse, la coque extérieure (3) présente une double paroi, à savoir une paroi extérieure (17) et une paroi intérieure (18).
