An attachable and detachable handgrip, primarily used with plastic bags, canvas bags and other items with handles, is disclosed. The attachable handgrip comprises a single piece of flat, pliable material that will hold its shape, yet yield easily to force. Paperboard or plastic are two such possible materials. This material is to be cut to a width suitable for the widest example within reason for the human hand, or approximately 3.5 inches. The material may be cut at a length that makes it practical to roll the material, or in the case of plastic, be extruded into a spiral roll. The space between the layers of the roll should be such that it practically accommodates the handles of the items being attached with handles. The end of the material that is the inside of the spiral will have a slight bend to it so that when the handle is unrolled and held a short distance away from the end, a hook is formed for the items to be placed on. This hook can be formed simply part of the curve of the spiral roll or exaggerated near the inside end. The end of the material that is on the outside of the spiral will have rounded corners to make it easier to pass through the bag handles.
