A cordless handheld EAS tag deactivator is provided. The deactivator is housed in a portable handheld housing. An antenna is attached to the housing. The antenna is adapted for transmission of an electromagnetic field, which deactivates EAS tags within the field. An electronic circuit is connected to the antenna to generate the electromagnetic field. A battery contained within the housing is connected to the electronic circuit to power the generation and transmission of the electromagnetic field.

L'invention concerne un désactivateur à main sans fil pour étiquettes électroniques de surveillance d'articles (EAS). Le désactivateur est logé dans un boîtier à main portatif. Une antenne est fixée au boîtier. L'antenne est adaptée pour transmettre un champ électromagnétique qui désactive les étiquettes EAS se trouvant dans le rayon d'action du champ. Un circuit électronique est connecté à l'antenne afin de produire le champ électromagnétique. Un accumulateur disposé à l'intérieur du boîtier est raccordé au circuit électronique pour alimenter la production et la transmission du champ électromagnétique.
