This new invention is a retrofit lever handle that is installed in door locks of the Adams Rite type. The mechanism is also adaptable to operate push paddle devices as well as panic bar hardware. The retrofit mechanism replaces keyed mortise cylinders and thumb turn devices. Today the fire codes, building codes and handicap laws require door hardware to comply with specific laws. The new invention is retrofitted into existing hardware and installs without altering the existing hardware and maintains the security of the hardware. This new invention is easy to install and is very cost effective while meeting all of the legal standards required.
