A handle (3) for a surgical instrument, and in particular a handle for use with keyhole surgery, endoscopic and la-paroscopic instruments is disclosed. In one embodiment, the present invention provides a handle for a surgical instrument com-prising one part with a pivoting or articulated end portion (4b), and a means for indexing the pivoting movement of the end por-tion. The indexing means allows adjustment of the angle of the end portion together with improved control and tactile feedback to the user. In another aspect, the present invention provides a handle for a surgical instrument comprising one part with a pivoting or articulated end portion, and a means for locking the movement of the end portion. The locking means can be moved between locked and unlocked positions. The end portion can be pivoted or articulated to a desired angle and the locking means moved to a position to prevent movement of the end portion holding it at the desired angle. This improves control and tactile feedback to the user.
Cette invention concerne une poignée (3) pour un instrument chirurgical, et en particulier une poignée à utiliser avec des instruments de chirurgie par le trou de serrure et des instruments endoscopiques et laparoscopiques. Dans un autre aspect, linvention concerne une poignée pour un instrument chirurgical comprenant une partie équipée dune extrémité rotative ou articulée, et un système permettant de verrouiller le mouvement de cette extrémité. Le système de verrouillage peut passer dune position verrouillée à une position déverrouillée. Lextrémité peut pivoter ou être articulée pour former un angle choisi, et le système de verrouillage peut être placé sur une certaine position pour empêcher le mouvement de lextrémité et la maintenir selon langle choisi. Ce fonctionnement améliore le contrôle et le rétrocontrôle tactile de lutilisateur.
